Call: Tohoku Forum for CreativityThematic Programs for 2025 (Tohoku Forum for Creativity)
[Deadline: 2023/09/30] The Tohoku Forum for Creativity (TFC) is currently seeking proposals for the Thematic Programs for the 2025 academic year (April 2025 – March 2026) in all fields of research. If selected, reseachers will receive financial support of up to 10 million yen. Applications from researchers in Europe are welcome.

Schwerpunkte dieses Programms werden die Bereiche Wirtschaft, Geopolitik, Umwelt/Energie und Neue Technologien sein. Insgesamt erhalten fünf Journalist:innen aus Deutschland und fünf aus Japan die Möglichkeit, an dem zweimonatigen Auslandsaufenthalt teilzunehmen.

The decarbonization of the industrial sector through greater reliance on hydrogen is one of the cornerstones of the national strategies of Japan and Germany to achieve climate neutrality. To further promote exchange in this field, the German Embassy and DWIH Tokyo hosted the discussion “Deep Dive on German Energy and Transition and German Hydrogen Policies” on March 1, 2023 at the Embassy Residence in Tokyo. Dr. Felix Chr. Matthes (Öko-Institut – Institute for Applied Ecology) presented the keynote lecture, which was followed by a commentary by Prof. Dr. Takao Kashiwagi (Tokyo Institute of Technology) as well as questions from the audience.
