Event Report (Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba, Port Studio, December 1-2)DWIH-Tokyo Symposium: „Sustainable Consumption and Production“
On 1–2 December 2025, the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) welcomed more than 100 researchers, entrepreneurs, colleagues, and friends to discuss current challenges and emerging approaches to sustainability in Germany and Japan. The symposium opened with remarks by Mr Yoshihide Hirao, Director of the Environment and Economy Division at the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, who underscored the importance of international collaboration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—goals that address not only environmental issues but also economic security and industrial resilience. On October 7, 2025, the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) welcomed over 120 colleagues, partners, and friends to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing aging societies in Japan and Germany. The event was kindly hosted by Keio University and jointly organized with the University of Cologne, with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Institute of Science Tokyo, and the University of Tsukuba. [Deadline: 2025/11/3] The German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) invites researchers, professionals, and innovators from Germany, Japan, and around the world to present their work at the upcoming DWIH Symposium: Sustainable Consumption and Production, taking place on December 1-2. The poster session will provide a dynamic platform to showcase pioneering research, pilot initiatives, and innovative approaches that address current challenges and propose forward-thinking solutions in the field of sustainable consumption and production. Our event focuses on sustainable consumption and production, covering a wide range of topics such as sustainable food and packaging, bioplastics, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy (including reuse, recycling, and repair), sustainable supply chains, food waste reduction, and government regulations.

Call: DAAD2025 DAAD Green Hydrogen Research Tour
[Deadline: 2025/06/15, 23:59 CEST] The DAAD invites advanced doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers from the European Research Area (ERA) and eligible countries to meet with colleagues at renown German institutions that are actively contributing to green hydrogen research, in order to get first-hand information and insights into promising research results and technological developments towards the green hydrogen economy.
