SHARE YOUR IDEA AND WIN A TRIP TO BERLIN!

The Falling Walls Lab is an interdisciplinary format to showcase the next generation of top researchers developed and hosted annually by the Falling Walls Foundation in Berlin on 7 November. In 3-minute talks, outstanding talents and innovative thinkers share their research projects, business models and social initiatives with an interdisciplinary audience and jury. Academic institutions worldwide are invited to host their own Falling Walls Lab and to send their winner/s to the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin.

Falling Walls Lab SENDAI, the first lab in Japan

Falling Walls Lab Sendai is co-hosted by Tohoku University, DWIH Tokyo, Tohoku Forum for Creativity (TFC), and the University Research Administration (URA) Center. Bachelor and Master students, PhD candidates, postdocs, young professionals, and entrepreneurs from all scientific disciplines.
The Falling Walls Lab Sendai will be held on Tuesday 31 August, 2021, at TOKYO ELECTRON House of Creativity, Tohoku University. Please see the “Schedule” page for further details.
Attending the event is free of charge for participants and the audience. Both participating in the event and watching it will be possible online.

Coaching

[Deadline: 2021/06/30]  To prepare you for Falling Walls Lab Sendai, a professional coach will teach you how to introduce your research in an engaging way, as well as helping you individually to create and practice your presentations.

An effective “elevator pitch” is not only important for events like the Falling Walls Lab, but for many everyday situations in which you want to explain what you are working on, for example to potential employers or your grandparents.

Through the coaching you will learn how to present effectively to a general audience, even if you have no prior experience. The application for this coaching is separate from the Falling Walls Lab application, but we encourage you to sign up for both the coaching and the actual event!
