[Deadline: 2025/11/3] The German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) invites researchers, professionals, and innovators from Germany, Japan, and around the world to present their work at the upcoming DWIH Symposium: Sustainable Consumption and Production, taking place on December 1-2. The poster session will provide a dynamic platform to showcase pioneering research, pilot initiatives, and innovative approaches that address current challenges and propose forward-thinking solutions in the field of sustainable consumption and production. Our event focuses on sustainable consumption and production, covering a wide range of topics such as sustainable food and packaging, bioplastics, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy (including reuse, recycling, and repair), sustainable supply chains, food waste reduction, and government regulations.

Funding for university cooperationDAAD Project Funding (September 2025, central call for proposals)
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) promotes cooperation projects between German and international universities with various programs. Many of these can be used for joint research projects between German and Japanese universities. On June 12, the popular program PPP for cooperation with Japanese universities was announced as part of the central call for proposals.

Call for internship offers: DAADRISE Worldwide 2026
[Deadline: 2025/09/30] Are you interested in hosting a German research intern at your institution in Japan? In the past years almost 4,000 undergraduate students from German universities interned abroad as research assistants through the RISE Worldwide programme, which is now in its 17th year. And once more research groups from all over the world that are interested in hosting a research assistant from Germany in the summer of 2026 are invited to submit project offers to RISE Worldwide.
