DWIH-Tokyo Symposium: “Innovations for an Aging Society”

On October 7, 2025, the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) welcomed over 120 colleagues, partners, and friends to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing aging societies in Japan and Germany. The event was kindly hosted by Keio University and jointly organized with the University of Cologne, with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Institute of Science Tokyo, and the University of Tsukuba. The third edition of the German Research Fair took place on April 10, 2025 – a digital information and networking event for anyone interested in research, doctoral opportunities, and academic career paths in Germany. The event was once again organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo).

On November 28, 2024, the 61st Erwin von Bälz Prize was awarded at the German Embassy in Tokyo – a remarkable milestone in over six decades of medical and scientific collaboration between Germany and Japan. “Generative AI: Pathways to Democratization, Transparency and Sustainability“: Geman-French-Japanese AI Conference in Tokyo

On November 12-13, 2024 the German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo), together with the Embassy of France in Japan and AI Japan R&D Network, welcomed 174 participants on Day 1 as well as 74 participants on Day 2 to the Trilateral AI Conference “Generative AI: Pathways to Democratization, Transparency and Sustainability”. This year’s event was a follow-up to three successful AI Symposia in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
