[Deadline: 2025/09/03, 17:00 JST] Bilateral cooperative programs aim to form sustained networks of bilateral research teams (etc.) evolved from individual scientist exchanges. JSPS provides financial support to excellent Japanese scientists, including young scientists, implementing such bilateral joint research projects and seminars with research teams from counterpart countries. The FY2026 application call is currently open for submissions.

Call: JSPS-DFG 2025Japanese-German Joint Call for Proposals in “Condensed Matter Physics”
[Deadline: 2025/06/03] To facilitate the support of collaborative work between German and Japanese research groups, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) have opened the possibility for joint Japanese-German project proposals in the research fields of Condensed Matter Physics and Statistical Physics, Soft Matter and Biological Physics (topics falling under the responsibility of the elected DFG review boards (Fachkollegien) 3.21–3.22).
