The international science communication event Falling Walls Lab Okinawa will take place on September 15 at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST)!
Based on the idea of “breaking down various walls” around the world, this interdisciplinary event offers students and early-career professionals from all disciplines and nationalities the opportunity to present their research, business model, or innovative idea in just three minutes in front of a distinguished jury from academia and business.
Winners of the Falling Walls Labs worldwide – including Okinawa – will be invited to the global finale in Berlin in early November 2026. The Falling Walls initiative was founded to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall.
This year, DWIH Tokyo coorganizes two Falling Walls Labs – one in Sendai (July, 31) and one in Okinawa (September, 15).
