Japan’s first University of International Research Excellence – Meet our Partners in Japan
Today, we’re heading north to meet Marc Hansen, Senior Research Administrator at Tohoku University in Sendai!
Marc is a long-standing partner of ours and a strong advocate for international research collaboration.
Tohoku University is one of Japan’s leading universities and was the first university selected for Japan’s Universities for International Research Excellence (UREX) programme – a ¥10 trillion government initiative for Japanese world-class research institutions.
With more than 50 existing collaborations with Germany, Tohoku University has already built a strong foundation for German-Japanese research cooperation – and is open to many more!
In particular, there is growing interest in strengthening connections with European partners, including through Horizon Europe.
