German-Japanese research projects in the field of "Computational Connectomics": selection result

The DFG and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) are funding two German-Japanese research projects in the neurosciences in the field of “computational connectomics”.

The DFG and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) are funding two German-Japanese research projects in the neurosciences in the field of “computational connectomics”.
Two German-Japanese projects are being funded as part of the second funding period of the DFG Priority Programme 2041 “Computational Connectomics”, which was launched in 2016. The first project “The role of dynamic neural functional coupling in spontaneous thought” involves a cooperation between Dr. Nicolas Schuck, head of the Max Planck Research Group “NeuroCode – Neural and Computational Basis of Learning, Decision Making and Memory” and Dr. Mingbo Cai, who works at the International Research Center for Neurointelligence (IRCN) at the University of Tokyo. In the second project “Computational and Physiological Approaches to the Primate Anxiety Connectome”, Dr. Peter Dayan from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics and Dr. Kenichi Amemori, who works at the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi) in Kyoto, will cooperate.
The DFG and AMED are thus expanding their cooperation in the area of joint project funding, which has existed since 2016.
