Sensor suits for workers quantify physical load and provide effective feedback to assist operations and prevent dangerous actions.

New technology developed by DFKI and Hitachi taps into motion data of workers such as those on complex construction sites, measured directly through wearable devices in each suit. Sensors recognize and evaluate the physical load on the worker’s body distributed over 30 spots.

Based on real-time recognition and comparison with model worker movements, the technology can assist operations and contribute to ensuring safety, managing health, and improving efficiency on the front line of manufacturing.
