German-Japanese Symposium on Climate Neutrality in Cities

Both Germany and Japan are aiming for greenhouse gas neutrality (“net zero”) by the middle of the century. The implementation of the measures will have to take place primarily in cities and municipalities. The symposium aims to facilitate an exchange between cities and municipalities that have already taken important steps towards a green and climate-friendly future. Pioneering municipalities will be invited to share ways of acting and to learn from each other. The climate targets of Japan and Germany are ambitious, but also offer significant opportunities for both countries. Should both translate their ambition into the right framework for a green transformation, they could not only become role models for others, but also develop into the technological pioneers of a green future.
