The international science communication event Falling Walls Lab Sendai will take place on July 31 at the TOKYO ELECTRON House of Creativity, Tohoku University!

Based on the idea of “breaking down various walls” around the world, this interdisciplinary event offers students and early-career professionals from all disciplines and nationalities the opportunity to present their research, business model, or innovative idea in just three minutes in front of a distinguished jury from academia and business.

Winners of the Falling Walls Labs worldwide – including Sendai – will be invited to the global finale in Berlin in early November 2026. The Falling Walls initiative was founded to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In the year 2026, DWIH Tokyo coorganizes three Falling Walls Labs in Japan – one in Tokyo (July, 28), one in Sendai (July, 31) and one in Okinawa (September, 15).
