TU Braunschweig

Technische Universität Braunschweig is Germany’s most traditional technical university and a member of the TU9 network, an alliance of the country’s leading technical universities. More than 15,000 students are enrolled in 87 degree programmes at the university’s six faculties. Among them are around 3,200 international students.

The university’s four main areas of research – Mobility, Engineering for Health, Future City and Metrology – are highly relevant internationally and contribute to overcoming major societal challenges.

TU Braunschweig fosters international relations across all continents. It also has long-standing connections with Japanese scientific partners in research and teaching: TU Braunschweig maintains university-wide cooperation with the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, the National Institute of Informatics (NII), the University of Tokyo, Shizuoka University and Tohoku University.

TU Braunschweig would like to further expand these already established relationships in the future. Membership as an associate supporter of the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH) in Tokyo is intended to create new collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships in the long term. Another focus is on specifically addressing and attracting young Japanese researchers to pursue a scientific career in Braunschweig.
