Wearable Sensing for Health Monitoring: From Electrical to Optical and Mechanical Signals

The human body never stops signaling, a heartbeat’s electrical trace, a pulse of light in the skin, the rhythm of movement. Signal processing, biomedical engineering, and affective computing turn these readings into insight, flagging illness early, sensing stress or fatigue, and moving monitoring from clinic to daily life for healthcare and well-being. The one-day trilateral workshop, supported by DWIH Tokyo, brings researchers from Heidelberg University (Germany), Kyoto University (Japan), and IIT Hyderabad (India). Kyoto University, November 2nd, 2026, with keynotes by Prof. Nima TaheriNejad (Heidelberg) and Prof. Nagarajan Ganapathy (IIT Hyderabad). For further information contact Dr. Mostafa Haghi (mostafa.haghi@ziti.uni-heidelberg.de) or Dr. Kana Eguchi (eguchi@kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp).
