Laser technology can solve demanding tasks in many different industries. Whether as a tool in automotive production, as measuring equipment in the environmental sector, as a diagnostic or therapeutic instrument in medical technology or as a communication medium in space technology, the laser provides multiple uses with high productivity and high efficiency.

Germany is a world leader in the field of optical technology and laser manufacturing technology. The Aachen Technology Region in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), RWTH Aachen University, Germany’s Center of Excellence in Engineering Sciences, and the Fraunhofer Institute of Laser Technology (ILT) is a well known center of R&D in laser technology and a cradle for innovative companies.
