The Japanese-German symposium on theoretical criminal law will bring together scholars from both countries for an academic exchange. The event will focus on current challenges and fundamental issues in criminal law, including “Artificial Intelligence in Criminal Law” and criminal law issues in the context of major disasters.
In line with the DWIH’s annual theme, “Science for Society,” this event explores how legal research accompanies processes of social transformation and provides normative guidance in times of technological and global upheaval. The aim is to conduct a comparative analysis of different legal approaches, identify common challenges, and provide impetus for the socially responsible further development of criminal law.
